A janitor is a person who is recruited as a cleaner or caretaker of a particular area. This person is responsible for cleaning and maintaining buildings such as hospitals, schools, and residential areas. Here, the Janitors’ primary responsibility is as a cleaner, but, Janitorial and maintenance work is not always about cleaning. They also have to organize what work needs to be done and when and where to do it. The janitor tracks the cleaning supplies, schedules them, and maintains a record of these supplies. A janitor must also be efficient with refinishing the floors, painting, plumbing, roofing, wall washing, etc. if needed.

In large companies, the Janitors also require to maintain the equipment, refurbish and repair depending upon the work that’s given - such as electrical repair, fixing tools, etc.
