the challenges
The customer wanted a solution that would help to solve the challenges with subject expertise, high time consumption, and cost of the hiring process.
The challenge

An international organization accustomed to working in different settings and time zones, this world organization is no stranger to enormous people requirements across its global locations. An organization of such stature would need to consider numerous factors to ensure quality hires without impacting the security of personnel and locations.

  • The candidate’s resume should match the candidate’s current skill proficiency.
  • Beyond certifications, the candidate should have practical knowledge of stated concepts.
  • Recruiting managers/ hiring managers should not be burdened with assessing skills they lack knowledge or expertise in.
  • Getting the right questions, different levels of questions for job functions, and vacancies for assessing candidates. ·
  • Quality over quantity – Shortlisting skilled and relevant candidates from a large pipeline to drill down to the most relevant candidates could save ample time.
  • In the case of remote tests, ensure the candidate taking the assessment is the same candidate that appears for further rounds.

With requirements around different verticals and a lack of dedicated teams in-house, the general process involved people at the operational level would work with HR teams to develop questions and mock tests, which was just additional work on top of their existing activities leading to undue time consumption and resource wastage.

Remote assessments would prove an ideal solution to address all of these challenges. While a custom tool for conducting assessments was available in-house, the challenge for this international organization was not in the tool per se. The initial attraction for them was iMocha’s expansive skill library. With a 2,000+ skill library, being empowered by a platform that functioned as an external team with the prompt capability to produce assessments to test specific subject expertise, be it supply chain or a different skill, within a short period was the highlight. Eliminating the need for HR to depend on SMEs for creating tests and ultimately saving time in the process.

iMocha’s remote assessment features proved the ideal solution, enabling candidates to attempt the tests per the hiring team’s time frame. An existing customer since October 2019, not much has changed on the hiring front since the advent of the Corona Virus! As an organization capable of running in regular and crisis situations, business continuity teams ensure the organization runs as per set plans. A pre-screening tool like iMocha empowers remote assessments from anywhere in the world! The advanced image and video proctoring, window lock with test termination, question randomization, and disabled copy/paste features ensure the authenticity of the test taker. The platform’s flexibility and questions’ customization have ensured continuity, irrespective of the crisis! Besides, the quick custom test creation, self-marking, and detailed graphical analytics were impressive features. Step by step explanation of the workflow:

  • They did not have a large recruitment team that could reach out to these universities across the USA to participate in career fairs and interact with the students. This hampered their recruitment roadmap.
  • However, more important was the lack of technical resources to evaluate candidates who applied for this role.
