FSA Oman Builds a Skills-First Foundation for Regulatory Excellence with iMocha IdeaLabs

Muscat, Oman | Jan 29, 2026 - The Financial Services Authority (FSA) Oman has reported positive workforce and talent development outcomes following the implementation of iMocha IdeaLabs’ Skills Intelligence and competency measurement platform. The initiative marks a significant step in FSA’s transition toward evidence-based workforce planning and skills-led decision-making across critical regulatory functions.

As a forward-looking regulator overseeing Oman’s financial ecosystem, FSA partnered with iMocha IdeaLabs, in collaboration with Ajyal HR System, led by Mr. Faiz Ali Al-Maskiry, to move beyond intuition-led talent decisions and gain clear, measurable visibility into workforce capabilities. The engagement focused on implementing a structured, multi-channel skills validation framework across six critical sectors, aligned to FSA’s regulatory context and future workforce needs.

Through the implementation, FSA established a robust competency architecture spanning technical, business, and leadership skills. Employees were evaluated using a combination of digital skills assessments, self-evaluations, and manager ratings-ensuring objective insights while reducing bias. This approach enabled FSA to identify skills strengths, uncover critical gaps, and align development priorities at individual, departmental, and organisational levels.

Early outcomes from the initiative indicate smoother adoption of the system, improved clarity of processes, and a positive employee experience. The platform has helped standardize competency measurement, supported more targeted training interventions, and provided leadership with reliable data to guide workforce planning decisions.

Commenting on the implementation, Sameer Salim Sarahan AlJamoodi, Medior Training and Development Specialist at FSA, shared:

“We are pleased to note that the overall progress has been positive. We observed strong cooperation and responsiveness throughout the implementation, along with a good employee experience in terms of ease of use and clarity of procedures. This has supported smooth adoption of the system and enhanced execution of our operations.”

The initiative has also enabled FSA to systematically review job profiles, align skills to real-world regulatory requirements, and establish a foundation for continuous improvement through future enhancements, including deeper manager visibility and more personalized development planning.

Satish Kumar, CEO, IdeaLabs and Founding Member, CBO, iMocha, said:

“FSA’s approach reflects a clear commitment to building a future-ready regulatory workforce. By adopting a structured, skills-first framework, FSA has created a strong foundation for data-backed talent decisions, targeted capability development, and long-term organisational resilience. We’re proud to support their journey and look forward to continuing the collaboration.”

With enterprise-wide analytics and skills benchmarking now in place, FSA has gained unprecedented visibility into workforce readiness across sectors-enabling leadership to prioritize investments, address succession risks, and strengthen alignment between skills and strategic objectives.

This collaboration reinforces iMocha IdeaLabs’ role in enabling organizations to adopt practical, measurable skills intelligence frameworks that support sustainable workforce growth, as part of a joint skills transformation initiative with Ajyal HR System.
