the challenges
Systems Plus Transformations was looking to expand its team in India and had about 25 developer and consultant roles to fill.
The challenge

The company required a mix of experienced and entry-level candidates for these roles. In addition, it also wanted to hire quality candidates for niche roles like Data Scientist and MongoDB. Systems Plus Transformations received a lot of applications for the job roles, but the major hindrance was the quantification of skills. Due to the lack of a skill evaluation method, interviewing each and every candidate was cumbersome and consumed a lot of time for their hiring managers.

Similarly, for entry-level hiring, Systems Plus Transformations did not want to engage its resources in visiting campuses and educational institutions, nor did it want an influx of candidates in its office for interviews. Apart from this, there was a shortage of resources for evaluating technical skills for niche job roles like Data Scientist and MongoDB.

Considering all this, Systems Plus Transformations needed an automated skills evaluating tool that would help it quantify candidates’ skills in the shortest possible time. The HR team wanted the hiring managers to invest time only in quality candidates.

After assessing numerous assessment options, Systems Plus Transformations chose iMocha.

It used iMocha’s automated assessments to quantify candidates’ skills and knowledge. Since iMocha had pre-built assessments with the latest skills, it was easier to create assessments for the respective job roles and evaluate candidates on the basis of their scores. For entry-level hiring, the biggest gain was that they could hire the best minds from premier institutes without engaging their resources in campus drives, which are tedious and tiring. The HR team sent the assessment links to the candidates, and those who performed well were called over for an interview at the office. The ‘Image Proctoring’ and ‘Window Violation’ features ensured that the assessments were attempted in a fair manner.

Similarly, for niche job roles, iMocha eliminated the need for technical expertise to assess candidates. Dhiraj and his team could easily assess candidates’ skills and filter accordingly.

Step by step explanation of the workflow:

  • They did not have a large recruitment team that could reach out to these universities across the USA to participate in career fairs and interact with the students. This hampered their recruitment roadmap.
  • However, more important was the lack of technical resources to evaluate candidates who applied for this role.
