the challenges
Cyient wanted a solution that would help in restructuring their financial department as per skill levels of employees by identifying skill gaps and mapping competencies as per job role in the shortest possible time, removing any human biases.
The challenge

Cyient wanted to restructure its finance team. They wanted to assess each employee for role fitment, identify skill gaps, and design training accordingly. One of the outcomes that Cyient wanted was to have the right resource for the right job role. E.g., they wanted employees who are good in taxation to handle roles and responsibilities that augmented their expertise. Another major challenge was completing the competency mapping in the least possible time and human intervention.

The team was looking for a quick, automated solution that would help them complete the process in a short time and also give accurate results. Cyient partnered with iMocha for its competency mapping needs. They created a test with ready to use skills. Apart from the core accounting skills, Cyient also assessed their employees on skills like communication, attention to detail, and data interpretation. This gave them a holistic view of their employee capabilities and most importantly, could bucket their employees as per their skill level. They also liked the fact that the employees could give the test remotely as well.
